Obituary of Lily Yuriko Dorey

Lily Yuriko Dorey (née Mizuno)

Lily Yuriko Dorey (née Mizuno), age 92, passed away suddenly on December 22, 2020. Lily was born in Steveston, B.C. on January 25, 1928 to Shigeichiro Mizuno and Natsu Ueda.   After travelling east from BC, she met Chester who travelled west from NL and together they settled in Toronto to raise their family. Chester preceded her in death in 2019.

Lily is survived by her 3 children Debbie (Mario), Donna, David (Gail); her 4 grandchildren Cora (Bill), Evan, Philip and Mark; 2 great-grandchildren Curtis and Billie and great-great granddaughter Lillian.

In her spare time she took up crocheting and has left her family and friends proud recipients of her amazing ‘works of art’. Even at the age of 92, Lily was rarely without her ‘hooks and thread’.  The many things that Lily was proud of, from being an accomplished singer in her youth, to her crocheting in her later years, nothing matched the pride she felt for her family.  She is greatly loved and will be sadly missed for her abounding kindness and generosity throughout her life.  Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
