Uncle Doug was one of a kind; witty, smart, business savvy, and fun, but most of all he always made time for his family and welcomed us through the door, pipe in mouth, socks and Birkenstocks, with a big smile and all. Whether it was celebrating festive holiday’s at Courtleigh Blvd, or cramming the family into the Collingwood cottage over Christmas and New Years, it is these memories I will always cherish the most. We will miss you dearly Uncle Doug.
Sending the family lot’s of love from overseas,
Xavier & Kyle xo

Many of our fond memories of Doug centre around Christmas time. He and Gail would always welcome family and friends whether at Cortleigh Boulevard or their wonderful chalet. We would gather together to sing carols with a strong emphasis on “The Twelve Days of Christmas” which Doug loved because he often got to sing the last verse. Remembering Doug dressing up as Santa and surprising us all....or the image of him skiing down the hill with his pipe in his mouth...or recalling him sitting at the head of the festive table engaging us with tales of high school football heroics or adventurous advertising photo shoots...or maybe a political point of view......all such memories depict the man he was. Fun, generous, opinionated, entertaining, smart, talented, mischievous, kind.
Our love to Heather and Andrew, David, Rachael, Charlotte, Matthew, Sarah and Leah

My fondest memories of Uncle Doug all centre around celebrations at the Moshoian home on Cortleigh Boulevard and up at their wonderful chalet in Collingwood. Music, laughter, good food, warmth and love. Doug's pipe smoke and juicy kisses. He always made new family members feel welcome, always took an interest in how the young people in his life were doing, and was always at the ready with a provocative point of view.
We will miss our lively talks with Uncle Doug, and his loving, supportive advice, and we will never forget him.
With much love, Kim, Steve, Cecelia, Jillian and Nate

It is difficult to separate our fond memories of Doug without including Gail.We have had so many wonderful family gatherings over the past several decades. Doug & Gail opened the doors of their home for every holiday throughout the year. They were both the most gracious and generous hosts. They both made us feel welcome and loved. We were also entertained at their Chalet In Collingwood for Christmas and the famous Elvis festival. This event started the family tradition of passing the "Elvis bust" throughout the family to an unsuspecting recipient. Always a source of fun and laughter. All family occasions were full of love and fun. Another family favourite was "gag gifts" at Christmas. Our three sons participated in this Christmas activity with much anticipation and laughter. Doug was an extremely successful business man. He gave Robert the good advice and encouragement needed to start his own business back in 1991. Doug was also a very encouraging and mentoring Uncle to our three sons. Byron (Beverley) Keegan(Kathleen) and Stuart. Doug was never afraid to challenge their young minds and have lively discussions.
We now hope that Doug and Gail are reunited and that they will watch over our wonderful family. Guiding us all to keep the family ties strong and above all to seek love, joy and happiness in life.
Dearest Andrew,Matthew,Sarah,Leah, Heather, David, Charlotte & Rachael. We love you all so much!
Robert,Shelley,Byron,Beverley,Keegan,Kathleen, and Stuart

I met Doug through the advertising business, but most enjoyed seeing him and Gail each year at Grey Rocks where we all went to ski. Doug was a brilliant creative leader, but also a wonderful guy to share good times together.

Doug and I started at Maclaren on the same cold, grey January day in 1960. We bonded immediately and throughout the years shared our parallel careers. A smart ,sensitive man with a disarming sense of humour. The Moshoian family should be extremely proud of Doug successes. How fortunate for him his journey was shared by his very special Gail. I'm so grateful he was in my life.

In the late 1980s, I was a young PA (production assistant) at Partners for three summers and remember Doug well. He was a lovely, kind man with a great sense of humour and he always treated the crew with respect. He was a director whose shoot you always wanted to get on! My dad also knew him (having made some commercials with him) and thought he was a fabulous guy.
Thinking of you all at this difficult time.
Best wishes, Jennifer Woodside

Doug was one of the first people I met when I joined the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club and we became fast friends. We had a lot in common and he was aware of my broadcast journalism. He was particularly pleased I not only knew about Armenia but I had visited there and reported on the nation in the aftermath of the 1988 earthquake. We played a lot of tennis and he had some wicked shots. We were all saddened when he felt he couldn't play any more. We still took time to meet and talk, occasionally about politics. It was surprising how many issues we agreed on even though I was centrist and he was libertarian. Always spirited, he was one of the kindest people I've ever known, always making one feel good about themselves. A lovely guy and I will miss him very much. John Dawe

I worked on a number of occasions with Doug, when I was at Maclaren Advt and he at Partners. He was a delight to work with and a true professional, and we enjoyed each others company.
My sincere sympathy to his family.
Rest in peace, Doug

To the Moshoian family:
As a teenager in the ‘60s, I often visited my uncle, Bob Lord, at Sebert Productions, and later at Partners. To a young man, enamoured by the advertising business, Doug was the essence of cool. He was unfailingly interested, helpful and patient with a kid with a thousand questions. I consider him to be a large part of my growing up and will be forever grateful.
Rest In Peace, Doug.
