Stephen, Amanda and Graham. I am sorry that we are so late writing to you about Susan's passing. It has been over 30 years, but the memories of the fun that our children had together with Carol Page are still alive with us. Your mother was such a vibrant, warm, and loving person. Whether she was being a parent or a fitness instructor, she met life with enthusiasm that was infectious. It was wonderful to read the obituary and learn about all of Susan's contributions over the decades. She really was a remarkable woman who supported all of her children in remarkable ways.
We felt so privileged to be able to blend our families under Carol's care and still feel a strong bond to all of you. We are making a donation to Breaking the Cycle in Susan's name. It is a program for substance involved women and their young children. For the past 25 years, Breaking the Cycle has been making a difference in women's addictions, as well as their and their children's mental health, and protection from violence.
We are so sorry for your loss of your truly special mother and will remember her and all of you. We are here if we can provide any support to you and your family.

I played hockey with Rick at Glendon for 3 years. A very good hockey player and more importantly a great guy for sure.
Sue was a part of our college friendship circle of course.
I remember her as always fun and engaging with a heart for social issues. I moved out of the province and lost contact but was so pleased to follow her career of community service from afar.

I met Susan Nixon when we were undergrads at Glendon College. Our first meeting was at a party in the Pit of Hilliard Residence. We went on one date - a very memorable concert featuring Creedence Clearwater Revival at Maple Leaf Gardens in September 1969. We became friends and we stayed in touch over the years. I last saw Susan in Vancouver sometime in the early 2000s with her sons Stephen and Graham. It was lovely visit. Susan was a person who faced more than her fair share of challenges and she faced them with grit and a marvelous sense of humour. Susan was also displayed entrepreneurship in her professional career. Most importantly, Susan was dedicated to her family. My deepest condolences to her family at her passing but you will have wonderful memories to keep you company as you deal with your loss.

I am incredibly fortunate to be Susan’s first-born, for me she’ll always be moms or maman. I am so grateful for her impact in every part of my life, I would not be who or where I am without her. To have been in her presence constantly in her last months, right up to her final hours among us is a gift I’ll treasure always. No matter how difficult these recent weeks have been, they were also beautiful, funny and full of love, reminiscing and reassurances. I’m appreciative of all who visited and messaged us as she prepared to depart, your time, effort and moving words were well-received and continue to help us carry on as we grieve and celebrate a life lived to its fullest potential in the time she received.

Sincere condolences to Susie's family. We are extremely sad to learn of her passing today in the Globe and Mail. Susie's strength of character, business success, zest for life, boundless energy, determination, fashion flair, loyalty to family and friends was truly awesome.
