I first met Ruth 1983 when I was a medical student. I walked into U of T Student Health with a bad sinus infection and she took one look at me and told me to go home with a stack of antibiotics until I was better. I met Ruth again doing Pilates over the past few years and got to experience her calm and modest but commanding demeanor. We were Pilates friends first and Women in Medicine second. RIP Ruth.

James and I are so sorry to have read about Ruth’s passing (affectionately Dr. Mrs. Davis! ). It is very hard to have someone so central to our lives no longer there. We too are grieving because Milo died July 6th. We are praying for the Davis family and know that Ruth took huge joy and pride in the huge and varied accomplishments of her extended family. James and I too have happy memories! Our love to you all. Sandra & James Peckham

Ruth Montgomery Davis was an outstanding member of our U of T medical class which graduated in 1951, and had an amazing career. She assumed a special leading role in organizing our 60th and 65th year reunions (see pictures) ). I was privileged to assist her and her daughter Sheila and marvelled at how they arranged everything so beautifully. Our 70th reunion is scheduled for next spring, and Sheila and I are determined to do what we can to make it worthy of her : one of her last concerns was for us to do that ! Dr. Gordon Cameron, retired in Dundas.
