I have only just learned of dear Jane's passing, and extend my deepest sympathies. I'm sure it has been made harder by COVID to properly grieve. I worked with Jane as a colleague when I was at Clarkson Gordon/Ernst & Young, and we continued as friends over many years. I admired her sense of fun, her lively intelligence and her courage. We met often to catch up on family news, review our latest travels and engage in literary discussions. Barry's passing was hard for her, but Jane was surrounded by so many good friends and by her beloved family, who brought her such joy. I have thought of Jane often and missed her spirit in the past several years. She was so special. The photo of Jane which accompanies this notice is lovely! I hope to hear about her memorial, if possible, as I'd like to attend.

Dear Lynn, Michael, Ann and families,
Jane and I were colleagues at Heidrick & Struggles. After we both left the organization we continued to remain in touch as Oakville/Burlington neighbours. We also had more in common as UWO alums and past residents of London, Ontario. Jane was energetic and had a lively spirit. She could always be trusted to provide a solid and honest opinion on matters at hand. From November 7-9, 1991 several of us attended Heidrick & Struggles' Research Conference in Chicago. A group photo was taken with Jane standing in the third row, third from the right.
Remembering Jane with fondness, Irene (Kowalski) Lowry, Burlington, Ontario

Jane and I were work colleagues for many years while we both worked at the search firm of Heidrick & Struggles. Even after we both left the firm, we remained friends over the years. I will always remember fondly all of our chats and her 'motherly' advice that she would give me. You will always be in my heart Jane!

I was so sorry to see the news of Jane's passing. My parents (the Colters) were life-long friends of the Sturgeon family in Welland and I have very fond childhood memories of many visits to their lovely home. I was also lucky to have been one of the youngest children to be invited to Jane and Barry's wedding! Penny, in particular, please accept my deepest sympathy. I am thinking of you at this sad time.
Sincerely
Ann (Colter) Christie

I was saddened to learn that Jane passed away. My parents; Bill and Judy Lind were longtime friends of both Jane and Barry and I recall conversations with my Dad about Jane's shared love of art (some of my Dad's). I know that they all shared great times together over many, many years. Sending my sincere condolences from the Lind Family to Lynn, Mike, Ann and their families. Regards, Kelly Lind

It was with great sadness that I read of Jane’s passing. I haven’t seen her for a few years but knew both she and Barry many years ago in Oakville. We played tennis with them both at Lawson Park then when Barry stopped playing Jane continued to come and play with “the ladies”! She was great fun and always ready to share a laugh. She was also a good tennis player!
I send my sincere condolences to her family and know there were many of us who really enjoyed knowing her.
