We first met Sadie through her attendance at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Scarborough. Our first impressions of a quiet lady were quite wrong. A feisty yet charming personality became obvious, coupled with a quick, dry humour which we enjoyed with our many conversations.
The loss of a brother in WW2 left a tremendous void in her life. She made several trips to the Netherlands as they commemorated The Canadian Liberation, to honour his service there, of which she was immensely proud. Sadie enjoyed the appreciation and hospitality of the Dutch people.
In later life, the family support, led by her nephew, Donnie, was highly valued by Sadie.
She will be missed.
