Dear Rose, Anna and Arthur please accept my condolences and deepest sympathies for the loss of your husband and father to your children. I was honored and privileged to have had Norm in my life from my wayward days from my youth to my wayward days as a senior. Words to describe Norm as a remarkable person have not been invented yet and his memory will live on in my heart and mind forever.

To Rose and the Dyson Family
Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of Norm.
He touched so many lives, was a great Gentleman, a Lawyer’s Lawyer.
I am reminiscent of an in depth conversation with him in your back yard at a C-Cave reception (which included Mrs French and Mrs Mahaffy) He was a man of his word and very caring.
May you find comfort in family and friends
.
My sincere condolences
Brian Horgan

I knew Norm both as a senior trial lawyer and Superior Court judge but knew him best during our work together at the Ontario Bar Association, fighting the good fight against no fault insurance. He even forgave me for having attended the dreaded University of Western Ontario, rather than his beloved Queens.
But all was indeed truly forgiven when my daughter and I ran into Norm in the Loblaws on Moore Avenue in the summer of 2008. Much to his delight he learned that my daughter had seen the light and was going to Queens. He was sufficiently pleased that he stood in the produce section and with that distinctive booming voice taught her the words to Oil Thigh.
A great lawyer, judge and above all gentleman. It was a privilege to know him.

I just read the obituary this morning, with sadness. Coincidentally, I had a fleeting recollection of him yesterday about a case we did as counsel, in opposition, where he taught me a life lesson as a young— stupid— barrister.
But I have fond memories of him as a colleague at 361, where we both ‘lived’ on the 3d Floor and our conversations which covered an array of topics — none of which were related to the law.
And of course of the two of you together at a showing of my son’s documentary at Innes College.
He will surely be missed. He was quietly one of a kind.

I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the members of Norm Dyson’s families. Norm and I were undergrads in the early 50’s at Queen’s. Norm injured one of his wrists one year and couldn’t continue as quarterback for the Gaels. I was the head track and field coach and was pleased to have Norm come out for the track team as a high hurdler. I believe that Norm won the gold medal in the high hurdles at the intercollegiate track and field meet that year. He was a tough competitor which you had to be in the hurdles.
I was saddened to read of Norm’s passing. He lived a lifetime of contributions.
God bless you, Norm.

Rose, please accept my condolences over the passing of your husband.
My memories of Norm are edged positive in the many animated sharings in conversation on matters serious as well as matters frivolous at the Island.

We were very sad to hear of Norm's passing. I had the pleasure of appearing before Norm in Court and then got to know him through the church. He made very significant contributions to the legal profession and was a wonderful person. He will be missed. We extend our condolences to the family at this difficult time.

Dear Dwight and family,
I am very sorry to read of your older brother's passing. When I saw the name 'DYSON' I immediately thought of you and read the obituary to see if you were mentioned as a family member. Sadly, I saw the connection to your name, and the Dwight Dyson I knew from Broadlands P.S. way back in the 60's . I have our Grade 8 Grad pic up on the wall at home.
Sending you and your family my sincere condolences and healing prayers at this most uncertain of times in our lives. (COVID-19)
