Dear Vera and Louise,
Firstly, i want to express my condolences on Mike's passing. I was very sorry to hear the news. I first met Mike 30 years ago on Densley Ave. I remember it well. He was so proud showing me what he had built and i was very impressed. We spent a few hours together that afternoon and I've felt a strong connection between us since. He business story was a great one. He was more than just hard working but very intelligent as well. Discussions with him were always at a another level. It was always a pleasure dealing with him for the past 30 years but especially while he was more active. I felt honored to gain his trust during that time.
It also was very evident he was a great husband and father. I'm sure you will take comfort in all those memories. May he now find his rest and may God be with you all. If you need anything, please let me know.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of your father. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your mother Vera during this time of loss. I was interested to learn in the obituary that your father had a civil engineering degree from the University of Toronto as do I. From all the stories that I had heard from my father and others I was never aware of the engineering background, it was always about the shoes. It just goes to show that if you look you can usually find things in common with most people. Although you are undoubtedly still feeling the loss I'd like to think that Mike has joined Frank and Uros and other friends and that they are having a great time now. Thinking of you. Sincerely, Henry

Louise,
I know that words are completely inadequate, but please know that my thoughts are with you and your mother at this difficult time. I remember visiting your parents while they were still in their home just off Avenue Rd. and the enduring memory I have is what a force your mother is and I have faith this strength will pull her through her current ordeal.
Virtual hugs to you both, Teri Yamada

Aunt Vera & Louise
Our sincerest condolences on the passing of Uncle Mike.
We are keeping you close in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time.
My own recollections of Uncle Mike stem from childhood. He always struck me as a "tough guy", but one with a kind soul. I also recall a subtle, yet really cool sense of humor. Often just a slight smile would be the tip off that he was joking, or found some mischief we were up to amusing.
May your fondest memories provide you with peace, and may you take comfort knowing that as long as he lives in our hearts and memories, he will be with us.
Paul, Cindy, Daniel and Michelle.

What a beautiful tribute to a superb husband, father, brother, uncle, colleague and friend. He was blessed to be surrounded by so much love, and we were blessed to love him.
Shall I cry out in anger, O God,
because Your gifts are mine but for a while?
Shall I forget the blessing of health
the moment there is pain?
Shall I be ungrateful for the laughter, the seasons of joy, the days of gladness, when tears cloud my eyes and darken the world and my heart is heavy within me?
Shall I blot from my mind the love
I have rejoiced in when fate
leaves me bereft of shining presences that have lit my way through the years of companionship and affection?
Shall I, in days of adversity, fail to recall the hours of glory You once did grant me?
Shall I, in turmoil of need and anxiety, cease blessingYou for the peace of former days?
Shall the time of darkness put out forever the glow of light in which once I walked?
Give me the vision, O God, to see
that embedded in each of your gifts
is a core of eternity, undiminished and bright,
an eternity that survives the dread hours of affliction.
Those I have loved, though now beyond my view,
have given form and quality to my being.
They have led me into the wide universe I continue to inhabit, and their presence is more real to me than their absence.
What You give to me, O Lord, You never take away.
And bounties once granted shed their radiance evermore.
