Starting in the early 1970s, the Chinese “invasion” of Agincourt and Markham permanently changed the “personalities” and landscape of these hitherto “Anglo” communities.
There were no Oriental doctors in the very pretty village of Agincourt back in the 1950s & 60s. And this is not a racial comment, just an observation.
I remember most of the family doctors from that era: Dr. Kyle Borland (he gave me my allergy injections), Dr. David Warkentin (his son was tragically killed while delivering newspapers),
Dr. Hood (delivered my son Dean and was my mother’s doctor), Dr. Stevens, Dr. Dallas Grogan (delivered my daughter Tracy).
My younger and late sister “Sally” was once-upon-a-time “in love” with Dr. Grogan – her family doctor.

Thank you. Our dad was partner with Dr. Borland before he went out on his own. He was also a partner with Doug Hood and was fond of them both. It is so heartwarming to hear these tales and I will share them with our mother. Thank you so much. We have a service that you could tune into from October 9. If you would like the link, please email me at lisagg@rogers.com.

Thinking of you and wishing you peace in your wonderful memories of him. Deepest condolences, Wendy Anderson (nee Stackhouse).

My whole family and I would like to express our sincere condolences to Dallas’ family. He was our family doctor for my siblings and myself from birth until he retired. I will always remember his warmth, kindness and patience. My parents were so lucky to have found him when they moved from Prescott to Toronto in the early 80’s. He will forever be missed by everyone’s lives he touched.

We just heard of Dr. Grogan's passing and are very saddened by this news. He was my family doctor from the time I was 9 years old and we had moved to Agincourt from Calgary. He became my husband's doctor when we got married and was a very trusted doctor for all 3 of my sons from birth to adulthood. He was an amazing and caring doctor, who spent the time listening to concerns and offering advice. He was one in a million. We were so sad when he retired from his practice but thankfully left us in the care of another capable doctor at Agincourt Medical Centre. I always asked how he was doing whenever I was at the doctors office. So sad that Covid-19 was the way his life had to end. He sure didn't deserve that for all the good he shared in life. May his entire family find comfort knowing they have an amazing guardian angel to watch over them. Our sincerest sympathies to all

Our family moved toAgincourt in 1971 from Edmonton ad we needed to find a local family Dr. Dr. Grogan was recommended and we were so fortunate to have such a great Dr. We moved to NOTL in 1980 and continued to make the trips to se Dallas for several years until he suggested a local Dr. here. We have often mentioned how fortunate my wife, myself and our 3 children were during those special years with him, his advice, his caring and wonderful manner. Our condolences to all of you.

Thank you. We are only seeing these comments now. They mean a lot to our family. Our dad truly enjoyed his work and was always very careful to ensure that the problems he saw at the office remained private to his patients. Thank you for sharing that he contributed to your lives and well being. It is truly appreciated.

I first met Dal when I joined the Agincourt Medical Centre in !986. He was a great man and he taught me a lot. He was an excellent doctor, a great guy to golf with and made a very entertaining Santa Claus during the annual Christmas party.
He will be dearly missed by the Kerlows

Dr. Grogan was our family doctor for many years - and actually delivered me (1963). I remember him as a friendly and trustworthy physician. I'm glad to hear that he enjoyed a long and active retirement in the beauty of Muskoka. Sorry to hear the circumstances of his passing. My condolences to his family. Grogan Family,
I'm sorry to hear of Dal's passing. I have many fond memories of Dal as a Doctor and neighbour. I recall when we first moved in as neighbours on Dunmurray, Jimmy and I digging your flower beds and Dal paying us $5.00 an hour - a more than generous wage at that time for two young boys! And of course, Dal always being available and dispensing medical advice and treatments at your side door or kitchen. My greatest memory of Dal however, was his gentlemanly, caring, and patient manner!

Thanks Ron Somehow we are only seeing your comment now. I will share this with my mom at the cottage. Of course, the Grogan and Sleeth families' lives will be forever intertwined thanks to our shared side yard and experiences at 46 and 48 Dunmurray Blvd. Knowing our dad, the flower beds you dug must certainly have been performed to exacting standards! He would have been envious of Bob for having such strapping sons that could dig holes! We are so thankful that you wrote such kind words.
