Monique became a friend later in my life, introduced to a longstanding bridge four. At the time she was not that proficient but was a quick learner and soon far overtook me in her card skills.
I enjoyed her intelligence and flair; we shared a love of reading, and our roots in Montreal.
I was saddened that we did not have one more get-together, and upon hearing about her slow but inexorable decline, which it she faced with considerable fortitude.
I shall miss her very much. Elle etait une belle amie.
My deepest condolences to her family whom she loved so very much.
