I was very saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I had the privilege of working as a junior to Bill on many transactions at Fraser & Beatty, primarily in the 80's when I worked in our Toronto office and later from our Ottawa office, where I still work as Counsel. I truly enjoyed working with Bill. He was an exceptional lawyer as well as a very generous mentor. I assisted him on my first transaction as an associate for a client Bill introduced to the firm and many further transactions for the same client, who continues to be a client of the firm to this day. I recall well a twinkle in his eye and I recall also on many occasions trying to tell Bill that I was too busy to assist as he instructed me on a file to the point where I couldn't refuse. I am very appreciative for all Bill did to advance my career. My sincere sympathies to Bill's family.
