I had only known John for a fleeting moment but John's positive, gentle and funny nature stuck with me. I am grateful for the time he gave me as an almost 'stranger'. Michelle, I hope our paths cross again in the future. John, you will be missed by many. Rest easy and I tip my hat to you Sir.

Dearest Mickey and Mario -
Pierre and I were both very ill with pneumonia over Christmas and January and were really just coming up for air when I saw John's obituary. I'm so sorry not to have been able to see him before he passed.... I think often of the evenings spent on Mildenhall back in the 70's. Please know that our thoughts are with you and the boys.
Love Bruce & Pierre

Uncle John had a way of making people feel so special. We did not see him very often as we live in Michigan, but when we did, he would always take my hand and sincerley thank me for whatever card or note I had recently sent. Aunt Alice will be so happy to see him. Cathy and David Robertson

I had first heard of John from friends Glenda and Tanya but never actually met him until about a year or so before Alice died. We had a lot in common related to our Croation immigrant parents though his settled in Schumacher and mine in Windsor. . We both had similar childhood experiences and recalled enjoying the tamburitsa folk bands and the music that we played as teens. It was fun for me and encouraging to find someone to share these memories with who had such a positive and thinking spirit. I’m glad John was part of my life even though it was for only a relatively short time; he was a thoughtful, good natured, generous and amiable friend, and a leader and contributor to our society.
I look forward to joining you all in the celebration of his life in April.
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family,
Sincerely,
Ray
