Josie was a vibrant, generous and lovely woman who cared deeply about her family. I was so impressed by her courage when hearing her recount an incident in which she chased a jewelry thief in Fairview Mall while trying to flag the security guard's attention. Her generosity was evident when she invited her whole family on a Mediterranean cruise at her expense. I was also touched by the fact that she had put money away over the years to pay for her granddaughter's first-year expenses at university. Josie also demonstrated her generosity when she extended an invitation for Christmas dinner to my mother and me when we didn't have a place to go. I would laugh when I would hear from my sister about how much food Josie would make for a regular Sunday dinner or about Josie not being able to resist a bargain.
My deepest condolences to Joe, Nick, Annette, Theresa and Michael and their spouses and to Joe Sr. as well as all the grandchildren. Josie will be dearly missed. Here is a photo of Josie at Karen's 50th birthday party.
