She gave so much to so many. Words are not enough. May her soul soar away to join with those she loved who have gone before and may she live in the hearts of we who are left behind.
From a grateful patient

Pat was special in every way. She took me and my family under her wings since 1972. I don’t know of anyone with all the attributes of warmth, kindness, empathy, intelligence, culture, inquisitiveness, tolerance, love of people and of God and family in such splendid balance and abundance.
Thank you for being my friend. Always,
Angie

I am a junior colleague of Dr. Pat White - one of those with whom she continued to share her wisdom after retirement and after she lost "the other Dr. White". She helped me with a case and as we worked, we became friends. What I enjoyed even more than her wonderful psychoanalytic wisdom, (which helped me greatly with my case) was hearing her talk so lovingly about her children, grandchildren and then great grandchildren. So many times I told her that I was striving to be the kind of mother and grandmother that I knew her to be.
I agree with Dr. Freebury that she will be missed deeply by the entire psychoanalytic community. On a personal note, I so cherish the fact that I got to know this wonderful person over these past few years.
My deepest condolences to her children and spouses, whom I've never met, but who I feel I know!

My deepest condolences to Pats family and friends. She was my classmate in medical school and we kept in touch for many years. She was a lovely woman and the most supportive friend. She was kind, thoughtful and empathic. Her choice of career suited her character, as classmates would confide in her and turn to her for guidance and support.

Dr. Patricia White will be grieved by many friends. I have been a psychoanalytic colleague of Pat’s for over 40 years and a personal friend for many of those years. Her warmth and sensitivity made her a much sought after psychoanalyst. Her ethical integrity magnified her appeal to patients and colleagues alike. She and her husband Peter were a dynamic pair who both shared a great sense of humour and were wonderful company. Since our mutual retirement and my moving out of town I sadly saw less of her but did keep up to date through mutual friends. My wife Diane and I send our sincere condolences to the family for their great loss. It is a loss that I know will be shared by the psychoanalytic community throughout Canada.

Such wonderful memories of Pat and Peter, soirees at the old Church House, dinners at the Wallace's, book launches and GC meetings. Always gracious and welcoming, affirming and interested we shall remember them both with great thanksgiving that they crossed and enriched our lives. Deepest sympathies to the family. (Rev. Pat and Peter came into our lives because Pat was my mother's (Norma Watkins nee Sawyer) favourite cousin. Their mothers were sisters. I have many fond memories of spending time together at Lake Rosseau where they both had cottages. The most significant memory for me was my wedding at Monyca Island. Peter officiated the ceremony and then again our renewal vows 10 years later.
Pat always took an interest in my life as a young person and was a role model to me. She was a kind and supportive person.
I extend my condolences to Pat's family on their loss.

I am reminded of so many memories of times the McLean and White families spent together when we were young. Peter and Pat were always gracious and took an interest in us at all stages of our development as kids. And of course, Bob and Peg met at Pat and Peter's wedding: so we McLean kids literally owe our existence to Pat and Peter. Pat and Peg were lifelong friends, a relationship that was treasured by Peg, always. RIP, on behalf of Rob, Chris, Doug and Don
