The Morrisons were a remarkable couple whose company we enjoyed over many years in Toronto, Muskoka and Georgian Bay. The connection goes back to the days of starter houses in Applewood Acres when children were in nursery school. Katherine was a solid foil for Russ and an enthusiastic grandmother. Intelligent and focused, she found fulfillment in the world of ideas. We were fortunate to have known her.

We have many wonderful memories of Katherine. She was a splendid woman, role model and, along with Russell, so incredibly generous. She was charming to speak with, warming to listen to, and so very thoughtful in her approach to their support. Of course, she will be missed, but we will always remember her fondly.

We at University College are very saddened to learn of the loss of Katherine Morrison. On behalf of our community of students, alumni, and faculty, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Morrison family. Katherine, along with Russell, were great friends of University College, and they were instrumental in helping UC to build the Morrison Hall residence -- a wonderful legacy to their spirit of generosity and support of student spaces across the University.
