The last time I saw Auntie Adele
was at her home on Oriole Road
My grandmother Nellie Saikaley and I were there for lunch. Louis was my godfather and my grandmother was a Salhany and Louis’s aunt his father’s sister. I have a very vivid picture of Adele and Louis embracing before he went to work . I remember thinking how beautiful they were together. God Bless her ! What a woman!
Love Carolyn

I worked with Adele at BA/Gulf Oil - she was a great lady. I played the piano at a church function she asked me to be a part of and at the BA/Gulf Christmas Carol singing. When I was transferred from Mt. Pleasant Office to Head Office on Bay Street she arranged for her husband to pick me up and bring me back to the office. Her smile and enthusiasm was infectious. I called her on the telephone about a year ago and we had a great conversation - she was still the same kind, enthusiastic Adele - a real lady!
God rest her soul and give her peace for a life well lived.

I was saddened to hear about Adele's passing. I have so many fond memories, going back to when her and Uncle Louis used to visit Ottawa.
I will never forget my frequent visits to Toronto after Uncle Louis passed away and into the 90s when work took me there often and the many Sunday dinners on Oriole Road where she always welcomed me like family.
I am glad we kept in touch and am so happy I had a chance to talk to her briefly as recently as a month ago.
Rest In Peace Aunt Adele. You are now reunited with Uncle Louis. You were a lovely lady and i will cherish the memories in my heart.
God Rest Her Soul

Adele was such a personality and we adored her! Sense of humor and kindness galore... we treasure having known her. Nina Foty will very much miss her monthly get-together with Adele at the Mandarin. She was a true friend who was the first person that Nina remembers welcoming the Foty family into St. George's when they arrived in Canada in the late '60's. We admired her pragmatic pluckiness, her faith and her devotion to her Church. May she be blessed in God's peace and rest eternal.

Adele has been our neighbour for almost a decade. Seeing her even just for a few minutes in the hallway or on the street had the effect of lighting up the rest of the day. Her pleasure in life was contagious and it feels as if positive energy has left this apartment building. We will miss her.

I knew Adele only as the dear lady who lived down the hall from me at 9 Deer Park, but I marvelled at her sweetness, courtesy and sheer pluck. You would see her out for her walk every day, and she took care to recall both mine and my wife's names.
it was so typical of her that when her time came, she firmly insisted on going out on her own terms, and dying at home. Hurrah for her!
I also want to note in passing how strong and supportive a role that Christine, her chief caregiver played in those last days.
Eternal rest give unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
