It has been several months now since my Uncle died. It's the time of year I would normally send him a Christmas card. I realize that I miss him. Growing up, Uncle George was larger than life. He was very generous to us and to my mother. He was a source of wise counsel and advice. And we admired him for the way he accepted his family responsibilities. He was the epitome of a self-made man, a son of immigrants who rose to the pinnacle of business - a true Canadian success story. My sincere condolences to Cathy, David and Elizabeth.

George was President and CEO of Royal LePage when I was assigned to the account as a new IBM account rep back in 1988. I was a rookie and he was a seasoned veteran of the industry and at that time Royal LePage commanded as much as 50% share of the real estate market. He was gracious enough to take time from his busy schedule and have coffee with me from time to time and during those early morning chats I learned many things that have guided my career since, most notably, taking care of your employees so that they will take care of your customers. George thank you for making a difference in my life and congratulations on your remarkable balance of family and work.

It was a pleasure to meet and interview George for the 100th anniversary book Royal LePage published in 2014. I was impressed with his stories about innovated practices that spurred A.E. LePage company's growth. I could also see he was a devoted husband and father and someone who took great pride in the relationships he had cultivated over his career. Sad to see George go, but happy I had the opportunity to meet him.

Cathy
My deepest condolences on the loss of your father. Your parents and my parents (Marge and Art Dedman) were very close friends and your dad and my dad were long term close business associates, both at A.E. LePage and even before that. I have fond memories of your parents as I use to baby sit Michael Mary and I think yourself when you lived on Wanless Ave. and got to see your parents on many occasions.
Again my sincerest sympathies on your loss.

I met George Cormack in 1973 when I was a high school teacher with an economics business degree He was managing the residential office in Etobicoke
I had decided to change from my
Teaching Career and so joined AE Lepage as an Investment/Commercial salesperson and later worked with George when he was President of AE Lepage (Royal LePage?)
We both shared the ups and downs over the years as A great fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs
From my first meeting and interview wuth George and to the limited but different times we ever would meet or be involved I appreciated George’s outlook on life and on the real estate especially the opportunity in real estate investment & commercial marketplace
Thank you George you were a inspiration to me and although Iit has been many years ago I will never forget and thank you for your support and understanding
My condolences to all family and friends May you REST IN PEACE
