To the Hazell Family...Don was such a wonderful man. He and my dad, Jack Fraumeni, were colleagues and pals for decades. I got to know Don through my Dad and was in Don's Blue Jays ticket group for a few years. I was always happy to run into Don up the street at St Mark's when the Holly Bazaar and other events were on. Such a friendly and joyous guy. I can now picture him "up there" with Jack, reliving old times!
With deepest sympathies...
Paul Fraumeni
Mr. Hazell was by far my best and favourite teacher. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. At DMCI he guided me through grade 11, 12 and 13 math (1959 - 1962). This was in the first three years of DMCI's existence. I had first met him at YMCI during the time many of us spent there before DMCI opened.
As I planned to enter a career in Engineering, math was a key subject and his guidance beyond the daily curriculum helped me immensely. Considering that at the time he was in his early '30s, his advise was well beyond what might have been expected. RIP Mr. Hazell.
Stephen & family,
Please accept our condolences to you and to your family on the passing of your father. Our thoughts are sympathies are with you all at this difficult time.
Condolences,
Jim Brennan & Vicki Bas

I send my sincerest sympathy to the Hazel family for the passing of Don. I admired and respected Don for his significant contribution to education, particularly in North York. He was an easy man to like.
