Dear Alison and Douglas,
My sincere condolences over the loss of your mom just a few weeks ago. Your dad used to play bridge with my dad, Jens Holm. Your parents took a trip together with my parents (to Cyprus, I think) and they had my folks up to their cottage more than once. While I never met Sybil, she was a household name in our family. So, I wanted to extend to you my deepest sympathies and prayers at this time of loss. There are no adequate words when a loved one has died. May you experience God's real presence and comfort whenever you feel down.
Sincerely,
Sharon (& Henry) Tam, Daughter of Jens and Elaine Holm

Sybil McEnteer is the subject of admiration in our home. She was my second cousin once removed (her father, John Moon, was my father, Clifford Moon’s, first cousin).
Sybil searched me out in 2014 when she read my mother’s obituary in the newspaper [points of admiration: initiative and builder of family ties]. This led to some amiable correspondence and conversations. Ultimately we received a dinner party invitation to her apartment [gracious host] where we also had the pleasure of meeting her brother Alan Moon.
Family stories were shared and connections made. Like us and our family forefathers, Sybil was a strong supporter of her United Church and social justice activities [a worthy contributor to society]. It became clear that the Moon family line was well represented by Sybil Moon McEnteer.
May her soul rest in peace and God‘s blessings be upon her family. “Well done, good and worthy servant“.
Chris (and Nancy) Moon

With sympathy to Allison, Doug, Sarah, Rachel, Daria, and all of Sybil’s family and friends. Sybil was a great friend to our family, and we have happy memories of the good times we shared with your family. I’m glad to have joined her for an event at Timothy Eaton last year, and was always grateful for her invitations.

I was so sorry to learn of Sybil's death. Like many other people, I felt that Sybil was an extraordinarily kind person, who put the needs of others first. I worked with her on the executive of CFUW. She was the treasurer and she did a very competent job. She was a Past President of the club and always gave wise counsel. I know that she was admired greatly by members of CFUW and her warm smile and gentle encouragement will be sorely missed. She often spoke of her children and grandchildren and told me how much she loved and admired them. Sandra Munn

I feel very sad to learn of Sybil's passing, as I met her as a warm and very lovely new friend through CFUW (North Toronto) only last year. I feel privileged to have been in her company, and to have enjoyed her welcoming hospitality through our book club. May she rest in peace. My sincere condolences to her family.
Sincerely,
Jane Shen

My husband and I extend our heartfelt condolences to Sybil's family on their great loss.
I moved to Ottawa in August 2018 and have missed Sybil's engaging companionship ever since. We met at the first condo meeting of 'Residents for a Better Balmoral', a group which endeavoured to influence the board of directors to make improvements. The board ignored us (!), but our group continued meeting to enjoy Chinese food and each other's friendship for many years. I have always been impressed by the number of community and artistic activities that Sybil was involved in and which kept her so young and interesting. She was a model for how to live a good life. Goodbye my friend.
