Without Paul, many of us would not be where we are today, what we became, and to a certain extent who we are today. As Belgians, Colette and I received a special welcome from both Fernande and Paul. However, no matter where you came from, the Swyers took care of you, cared for you. I was lucky to work with Paul for 3.5 years and, after one year of learning as a clinical fellow from him, had a small office next to his during my 2.5 years of research studies under his supervision. It gave me the special privilege of many and long conversations. He truly was a pioneer, a GENTLE MAN and a gentleman, an influencer and a leader. Thank you, Dr. Swyer, thank you, Paul.
