Anyone who knew Viiu would agree she was, as the Irish say, a bit "fey". As a CIT at Camp Wapomeo in 1970 and Viiu as our counselor, she kept all we "18-year-olds" safe and sound. The boys Camp Ahmek was just down the lake! Viiu knew our plans before we did. So many wonderful memories we shared together on the shores of Lake Canoe. Such a cherished friend. You will always be remembered.

Our deepest condolences are extended to Viiu's dear family. We are most saddened at her passing and the loss of Viiu's presence in our community of friends and colleagues. Viiu provided a strong female voice and role model for young women, whether it was at camp, in the classroom, in the guidance office or in the gym. A Life enthusiast, Viiu shared her interest in nature and culture, seeking our new experiences though travel and her MANY social connections. How we will miss her smile! May many fond memories continue to keep her presence in our hearts.

Dear Reet:
I am so sorry that Viiu has passed away and regret that I am unable to attend her memorial. I met Viiu when
we were staff members at Camp Wapomeo. Viiu was a strong presence who was beloved by her CIT's,
a relationship which continued long after we left camp and was reinforced at many reunions. There was only one
Viiu at Camp Wapomeo and she will missed and remembered by all.
My condolences to you and your family.

I had the privilege of knowing Viiu as student campers at the Athletic Leadership Camp (she from Bloor CI and I from Oakwood in 1957). Then we were at UofT together where her volleyball skills far outshined mine. A summer at Wapomeo in 1969 added to our memories.
My condolences to all who mourn her passing.

Viiu and I played volleyball together in the late 1950's and early 60's.fat the University Settlement House.
She was a first-class player and a great fun-filled teammate. She always had such soft hands on the volleyball and played the game so well that she was a valued teammate and friend. I remember her (one time) on a volleyball trip to the US .and how she loved to sing the song "Counting Flowers on the Wall" by the Everley Brothers. We had a lot of fun because of her youthful enjoyment.
She loved the U of T and remained a loyal supporter for Women's sport.
