Dear Kirsten,
We were greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Peter and we wish to offer you and your family our most sincere condolences.
Having first met Peter in our Boy Scouts group "The Moose" in Mühlacker, FRG, in the early sixties, we did not lose contact when, some years later, he left Germany to settle in Canada, but revived our relations by various mutual visits in Canada and Germany and also by a trip to our respective birthplaces in our common native country Czechoslovakia. On all these occasions he showed an admirable sense of humor, of readiness to help, generosity and hospitality. We had a really good time together and we will always remember him with deep respect and thankfulness.

Dear Kirsten,
I just read in the Globe and Mail the obituary of your beloved husband. I remember meeting you agin about a year ago and you told me that he was quite ill. This must be a grievous time for you and your two sons. I knew you for a long time at Allenby and I understood how devoted you are to your husband and family. You must be delighted to have your darling granddaughter, Stella.
I am afraid that I cannot attend the service. I have had an operation on my ankle and I am in a cast and a walker. It is difficult to get around now but I shall be better in about 5 weeks. My fondest wishes to your family. Sandra and Norman Munn.

Peter was such a great person and it was a honour for me that I came to know him. I always enjoyed his company and his laugh. His laugh was contagious and always brought a smile to anyone who was nearby. Over the years he was kind enough to share his stories, both his struggles as an immigrant and his triumphs. I feel so sad to have lost a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with Kirsten and the family. He will be missed.
