Karin and I were deeply saddened by the passing of UNC, as I came to know him over the last 50 years, as the beloved uncle of my oldest and closest friend, his nephew Tom Martin.
We extend heartfelt condolences to Tony and Tim and their families as well as the Martin family and the family in Scotland, where we stayed for a cherished visit with UNC, Julia and Paddy a few years ago.
A friendship with UNC was a life enriching and life changing experience. His warm smile and easy manner belied an exquisite wit and charm matched by few. His sage advice and ability to analyze and solve problems with few words were legendary. He was the epitome of common sense and I was the beneficiary of his keen acumen more than once.
UNC has a love of the Georgian Bay and was the Founder of the modern day Georgian Bay Association and a true Founder of the Township of the Archipelago.
He will be missed by all who knew him and many who may wonder whence cometh their good fortune.
