Lily and I we're saddened by the news of Bob's passing. Although we only got the chance to meet him a few times, we have fond souvenirs of his "joie de vivre". We wish to express our sincerest condolances to you Liz and to Marylin. We wish we could be there with you.

My condolences to all the family. I have very fond memories of Bob. He was my father in law for many years I really enjoyed his yearly visits to Winnipeg. He always found something to build or fix on every visit All his grandchildren here in Winnipeg experienced his very long daily walks He would always take one or more of them with him Every night at exactly 5:00pm it was relax and glass of sherry time Now he is with his two sons and wife and at peace RIP Bob. You will be missed

A true 'man's man' as he always said. Bob was a wonderful neighbour and friend to all. So many stories told on that front porch. Rest in peace Bob. You deserve it.

Dear Elizabeth, Marilyn, Sandy, Pam, Allie, Mike and families,
Deepest condolences to you all.
What an amazing man; your father and grandfather was!
He truly was one of a kind and a true gentleman and friend.
When we moved to Hanna Road Bob immediately made us feel so welcome; and we quickly became friends.
Nathan and Mattie loved spending time listening to his stories, and playing with the yellow car. (I'm guessing it's still in the brass container in the living room)
I have so many wonderful memories; that I will always cherish.
May you all take comfort in your own cherished memories, and by knowing how much he meant to others.
Love,
Sister Sue, Ed, Nathan and Mattie (or the Goofy Guy as Bob called him)
xoxo

As a first cousin of Bob's, I would like to extend my sympathy to the family. I remember many times visiting back and forth in our neighbourhood when we were children as we grew up as neighbours just across the lane. My Dad and Bob's Mom were brother and sister! I am a few years younger but we spent lots of good times together with Bob and his family in our early years! Sincerely, Betty Whitney

Bob was a force of nature. I met him 14 years ago when he was only 84 and my family moved across the road from him. In all the years I’ve known him he’s been an active healthy strong person. Never gave up and focussed on the positive even when he went through some very tough things. We became friends in that way people don’t realize they’re becoming friends. I will miss him. He kept an eye out for me, and the comings and goings at my house. He knew if I’d been working late because my dining room light was on, and always asked about my life, how I was, how my children were, how many courses I had that term, and what they were. He always knew which days of the week I was teaching. I’m thankful for the gift he gave me of wonderful friendships with his family, and over the last few years his caregivers. A fixture on his front porch for decades, I’ve seen tons and tons and tons of people stop to chat with Bob. Leaside, especially our little block, won’t be the same. My hope is that he is now reunited with his beautiful sons and his wife, and exploring lots of new endless walks to be had xo
