I met Clyde in 1976 after I joined the Leaside Lions, which was twinned with the Central Demerara Club in Guyana. Clyde was past President and was assigned the task of helping to familiarize new members with the workings of Leaside Lions Club.
Clyde was dedicated to Lionism and was one of the hardest working Lions especially in the fund raising activities of the Club. He was responsible for running the monthly bingo for the veterans at Sunnybrook Hospital "K" wing. The annual fund raiser for Canada Day was Clyde's :"baby" and he encouraged Lions members and their families to participate. At one of these events he met my teenage daughter and ever since he has inquired about her well being, he was a very thoughtful and caring person. Clyde and I shared many lunches together and our last lunch was just before his Birthday on January 27th this year at his favourite restaurant Swiss Chalet. We also shared several phone conversations about his many activities at the nursing home.
I was away in Florida from April 11th to April 23rd and found out on my return that Clyde had passed away. I was very sorry I was unable to attend his service and on behalf of myself and my family I would like to offer our condolences to Clyde's family. Hew as true friend and we will miss him very much.
Sincerely, Peter Lee and Family
