I have had a heavy heart since learning of Lynn's passing. I hired her at Molson, and absolutely loved working with her. As many have already said, she had a calm, quiet and elegant demeanor that made her fierce intelligence so compelling. My deepest sympathies to her husband and son, whom she made it so clear she loved beyond measure.

Lynn was one of a kind. She was my first friend when I moved to Toronto over 25 years ago and I liked her the moment I met her. Apart from her style and great taste, she was “doer” and quickly organized a gourmet club with several other ladies at Nielsen. We’d make dinner (something new and different) for each other once a month. I still remember so many nights of gourmet food, wonderful cocktails and lively conversation. She was a fun, spirited, tell it like it is kind of person who’d be your go to for places to go and things to do. This supper club lasted for years and I came to know even more wonderfully warm and interesting women that were all connected to Lynn and still are. Later we’d get together with our families. Lynn and Mike were always great hosts. We’ve been in and out of touch over the past 25 years and our lives have followed very similar paths personally and professionally. Like so many of her friends, we shared a passion for food, travel and family. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to go and see her but am thankful I did a few weeks ago. Conversation flowed as if we were having a tea somewhere nice and catching up like old friends do. These past few years must have been so hard for Lynn, I don’t know that I could have had her grace, strength and determination, but she was never the kind of person that can sit still and feel sorry for herself. She worked for it, but managed to have it all. She was successful in her career but more importantly had so much more in life to be thankful for. A great partner in life in Mike, a supportive family, a son she was so so proud of and so many amazing girlfriends she managed to stay connected to. I am so glad I was one of them. Marcel and I are so sad that we can’t be there to celebrate her life in person this weekend and support Mike, Andrew, her family as well as her amazing group of friends in person but we will be with you all in spirit. Our deepest sympathies, Gail and Marcel Castillo.

Lynn was a beautiful person inside and out. She helped me through my battle with cancer and we always joked that we were going to beat this horrible disease together. Lynn touched my life as I am sure she touched many lives. Andrew and Michael she loved you both so much and talked about you at work all the time. I'm so grateful Lynn was able to have so much love surround her in the short time she had in this world. To Lynn's entire family, I am so sorry for your loss and I am truly heartbroken. I hope you can keep her in your hearts forever as she will live in mine. She will be remembered always for her kindness, her beauty, her humour and her generous heart. Leigh.

We had the pleasure of getting to know this city girl in the country. Mike, Lynn and Andrew would sometimes visit with us in Prince Edward County where, in winter, Andrew would be very excited to play hockey on our outdoor rink and, in summer, when we would all splash in the waves at the Sandbanks beach. We remember a vibrant smile and a positive attitude as well as an abiding love for Mike and her precious Andrew. Our hearts go out to the Fontaine and Yates families at this very difficult time. Lynn has been an important source of inspiration and a model influencing both my personal and professional life since I met her 8 years ago. Her actions were always perfectly appropriate and delivered in an elegant manner. She always had the perfect words in any kind of situation. When in doubt, I often ask myself what Lynn would have done or say in that situation to guide my own behaviors. And I was lucky to have Lynn as a dear friend I could always count on for formal discussions and informal get togethers.
I am so grateful I met Lynn and had the chance to share open hearted moments and conversations with her. She will be kept alive through all the memories and influences tainting my behaviors. Thank you Lynn, hope you have an idea of how wonderful and important you are to me! xx

With heavy heart I will be there to celebrate Lynn. She "was one of us" as someone so perfectly commented this past weekend. So many parallels in our lives and career - getting married and having children at the same time (sharing parenting books even). We used to joke "at least they'll turn out the same". We went to the same University and swear we lived in the same dorm room (at different times). We worked closely at Labatt for many years. Went for the same job once after Labatt and when asked if I'd give her a reference (realizing I was clearly out the running) we laughed and I preached to them how she was by far the best candidate for the job. Years later she recommended me to that same organization where I still work. I am so grateful for the influence Lynn had on my life and career, inspiring me to broaden my horizons. My only regret is losing touch over the last year or so (not knowing of her trials or supporting her fight). She has yet again inspired me - to work a little harder - at staying connected in life to that and those who matter most. My heart goes out to you Mike, Andrew and family/friends. I know her spirit lives on with you. May memories and others bring some comfort. With deepest sympathy, Carolyn Brown

Dear Mike Andrew and Family.
Lesia and i send our deepest condolences to you and your family. I didn't get to know Lynn really well But had the pleasure of meeting her a few times when she got our Minotaur hockey team into the breweries executive party lounge where she worked. We had several parties there. And well being the only Minotaur that didn't drink beer didn't matter to her. She made sure i had the pepsi to go with the little bottles of rum i brought. She said i'll look the other way while you pour that. Was a good laugh. Lynn where ever you are i know you have certainly brightened up the place by your presence. Your free of pain now,May the wind take you where ever you want,May the sun shine on you always. Rest Easy Lynn.
