My favourite English teacher at Humberside about 1952. She encouraged my appreciation of literature while tolerating my offbeat sense of humour.

Roberta was the most lively, warm, inspiring and intelligent teacher I had at any level of education. And with her teaching colleagues like Dunc Green and Al Merritt, that's saying a lot.

Anne Waugh Selby - Humberside C.I. "50 to 55
Lucky to have been a student of "Robbie", enjoyed all the physical education offered and especially the extra curricular teams. Then in Grade 13 Robbie was my excellent English teacher. Some years ago i was invited to accompany Robbie to the Griffin Poetry Awards. This later led to the opportunity to read poetry to her and benefit by her delightul ad hoc comments on each poem and author found in the anthology that Robbie had published for high school use. It was a privilege to reconnect.

An inspirational teacher. Remembered fondly after some 55 years since having the privilege of being in her class at Humberside CI. Sadly missed.

Though I can't attend the memorial gathering, I will be there in spirit to celebrate a teacher whose legacy can be found in the lives of hundreds of her students. She was my Phys Ed teacher for two years, and basketball coach for four years. I had no idea how excellent Humberside's Phys Ed program was until I connected with an embryo university program which was a huge let-down. Roberta died on the birthday of my good friend, Lorna Bentley Wreford: she and Roberta kept in touch until Lorna passed away at age 76. I'm sure they're celebrating together. My brother, Harvey Ledger, visited with her at the lat Humberside Reunion.

We have lost a great person whose energy, laughter, knowledge and love
has made my life and the lives of so many others wonderful just because we had
Mrs. Charlesworth...Roberta...as a teacher and living example as to how to live
a full life.

So very sorry to learn of Robbie's passing. We had been neighbours for over 20 years with many walks around the block with Perry and Winston. She was always such a vital lady who took great interest in everything around Cornish and Moore Avenue.
I know she will be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers to her family.
