Betty‘s zest for life was admirable. She was a good role model for all of us. Before she married Bob, and well ahead of the trend, she flipped houses. She won many awards for her baking at the CNE, and cooked with pleasure for a period of time for young pre-school children. She enjoyed immensely the weekly cooking classes at Loblaws, where her friends gave her a party for her hundredth birthday. She had a long association with St. Andrew’s, where I believe she and Bob married. So often when I spoke with her there she would report on attending a recent charity fundraiser or a performance. She dressed well thanks to The Room, and enjoyed outings of all kinds. Betty was appreciative of the staff who looked after her in later life, keeping a positive attitude. Her mind was sharp the last time I visited, and she was happy to hear my news. She will be deeply missed.
