To The Grieco Family,
My family and I attended the Hostelry Awards last year and spent some time with both Mr. & Mrs. Grieco.
My mother Janet and I went down memory lane remembering some of the great moments at La Scala; my parents favorite restaurant. As well my grandparents were great friends of Mr. Grieco's parents and used to play bridge with them many years ago. My first big date was at La Scala and I was treated like family which was very much a part of their brand and success. The Grieco contribution to the Hospitality Community in Toronto has been extensive and
vibrant. Just wanted to let the family and especially Mrs. Grieco know we are thinking of them as we continue to stroll down memory lane.
Be well
Chris and Janet Boland

Deepest sympathies to the entire family. I have such wonderful memories of Charles over the many years. His avid reading and learning made him a man of the world. His passion for the hospitality industry was an inspiration. He instilled a sense of unwavering professionalism in all those he interacted with. His legacies with the OHI and with the CHF will live on. To his family - know how proud he was of each and every one of you - sons and daughters-in-law and grandkids. And to the every amazing and graceful Margaret - you helped make him shine. You were his steadfast champion. How very lucky he was to have you as his soulmate. May the happy and special times of the past help mend your sad and broken hearts.

My sincere condolences to Margaret and family
Charles was a terrific mentor.
I have many fond memories of my morning coffee meetings with him during my time at George Brown College - Through his quest for quality he would always provide sage advice and valuable insights
to think about.
His dedication to the Hospitality sector ,raising funds for student scholarships, and for recognizing leadership in others - has resulted in “a one of a kind “ legacy .
He was a true visionary , and one that will be sadly missed

Margaret,
Nancy & I were saddened to read an e-mail from Mark McGroarty informing us that Charles had passed. We have such fond memories of you & Charles & your time on Hilton Head. We have kept up with you through Mark & Carolyn but were unaware of serious illness of late. Please know that we are thinking of you & you & your family are in our prayers at this difficult time. I enjoyed reading how the boys have grown up & have families of their own. This will be a source of comfort to you as you go through this most difficult time. We love you,
Jack & Nancy

Margaret, John, Paul, Joseph, Patrick -- I am so sorry to hear this news. The Passion and Vision that Charles had for the food & hospitality industries will be remembered always. As a leader, friend and mentor, he was instrumental in the careers of so many in the industry. We are all better for his guidance. I will fondly remember picking up the phone and hearing him say, " Madame".

Dear Margaret and Family
Carolyn and I extend to you and your family our sincerest sympathies on the passing of your beloved Charles. He was a kind and passionate man. We still use the Il Gelatiao machine he gave us from your shop 35 years ago when we lived on Hilton Head Is. We all love the champagne sorbet he taught us how to make! Fond memories.
Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Most affectionately
Mark and Carolyn
