Dearest Cheryl. It is with the heaviest of heavy hearts that I write you today. You, we, all of us have lost one of the truly nice guys. The smiles he planted on so many faces, The genuine joy people felt when they were near him. I felt it on so many occasions as I was lucky enough to count him as one of my truly closest friends.
Cheryl, even at this sad time you are blessed with a lifetime of amazing happy memories.Enjoy them, enjoy them. Rick left them for you.
On another note. I had a very bad fall at Christmas. Therefore major hip replacement surgery. As much as I want to be there for you today I have been advised not to risk going out and risk a fall in this new snow that's still falling. I truly wanted to be there. We will see each other soon and share a laugh and smile like the old times.
Surely Rickster is in Heaven. Imagine the scene. Only he and Jesus could hit a two iron well. What a time. Brian Costello

Dear Cheryl,
Robert, Nigel, Franny and I were so incredibly sorry to hear the news of Rick's passing. I hope that you will find some comfort from the love of your family and friends as you deal with your shock and loss. We are all so saddened by the loss of such a warm, friendly and caring man. Franny mentioned that she had just seen Rick the other day and he gave her a warm hello and Merry Christmas. That was his way – always a big smile and a warm greeting.
