Rosemary Torrance

Obituary of Rosemary Torrance

ROSEMARY TORRANCE
(née Black)
August 23, 1942 - December 12, 2018

It is with deep sadness and much gratitude for a life well lived that we grieve the passing of Rosemary.
She leaves behind her husband and best friend of 55 years, Paul; her daughters Tracey (Tony Barozzino), Suzi (Emmanuel Roux), and Erinne (Kim Clausen); and ten grandchildren: Matthew, Samantha, Peter, Roxanne, Michael, Candice, Rasmus, Julie, Karoline, and Thor. Also mourning her loss are her dear sisters Barbara, Betty, Carol; her brother Harry and their families.

Graduating from Loretto Abbey, Rosemary went to U of T and began her love of learning which she shared with Paul. Marrying in 1963, both became teachers, coaches and tutors inspiring many. They built a wonderful life together focussed on family and filled with travel and more than forty summers in Muskoka.
A wonderful cook and hostess, she also loved to golf, play bridge, kayak, and do yoga every day (even on planes). She treasured her friends, particularly the A.Y. Jackson and CFUW ladies.

Her family would like to thank the Oncology teams at PMH and RVH in Barrie, and her palliative care team at home.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20th, at 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at Humphreys on Bayview Avenue. A funeral mass will follow Friday, December 21st, at 10 a.m. at St. Anselm's Church, Leaside.
Rosemary loved flowers, but a donation to PMH would be equally appreciated.
