The Bunker’and the Innis’s go back about 80 years - well not all of us but Barb and Thelma surely did! Best friends for a very long time. See a few pictures under Photos showing them over the years.
Our family was very saddened by having to say farewell to Barb. She lived a full life and was a lot of fun to be around. She did like to laugh and our mother liked to make her laugh! She was the Maid of Honour at Bill and Thelma’s wedding and then travelled to England with Reta And Digger Gorman for Bob Innis’s wedding.
Many New Year's celebrations were spent together, the "New Brunswickers" knew how to have a good time. Barb will now meet again with Thelma and Reta and Bunk. Bunk delivered quite a few members of our family!
Bill Innis, just a little bit younger than Barb was truly upset to learn of her passing. We all send our love and wonderful memories to Doug, John and their families. Barb was one of a kind and will be remembered with great fondness.
The Innis family. ❤️

To Doug, John and families,
I was so very sad to receive the call from Bob that Barb had passed. I have been looking through Marie’s great collection of pictures - so many memories of the wonderful times your parents shared with Frank and Marie, and, indeed, all of us at the Lake. Barb always inspired me! There was nothing like a good, long, animated talk with her! Whoever wrote her Obituary has done a marvellous job of capturing the spirit in the long and love-filled life she led. She will be sorely missed by so many, but the sound of her voice, her laugh, with always be with us.
2018 has been a challenging year. Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss.
Love,
Marti-Lou Neill

Dear Bunker Family,
We are so saddened to hear of Barb’s passing. She was such an incredible woman. Best friends with Ret and Dig forever. She loved a good chat and was always so interesting and interested in hearing our news. She amazed us with her sharp mind well into her 90’s. She handled aging and her physical challenges with such grace and dignity. And she loved to laugh! That, and the twinkle in her eye, is what we’ll remember most about Barb! She will be dearly missed.
Love Tom and Jane

I was deeply saddened to read just now the news about your dear Mom and my favourite neighbour. Those many years leaning over the fence to talk to Barb as you 3 grew up while she helped me get my 3 grown up too are so memorable. Being several years older than mine, her hands-on experience, constant wisdom and lessons in patience, tolerance and endurance were always greatly appreciated. That fence saw many days also getting words of wisdom from Bunk as to my gardening. He once told me that "It isn't so much that you are not good at is as it is that you just need a few more years of experience." His dedication to his garden was legendary. As a Doctor he brought hundreds of humans into this world and as a gardener he brought beauty, fragrance and the majesty of Mother Nature into our world. His Japanese flowering cherry tree was a greater announcement of May 24th. than any calendar. Barbs' capacity to endure hardships with and for her children and Bunk were sorely tested many times but losing Jane and Bunk as we knew him before his latter years were fought with a very special tenacity and overwhelming love incapable by most women. I had just made out my list of Birthday and Anniversary cards to buy for December and I always included your Mom on that list being that her Birthday was the 3rd. of Jan. so I would not miss it. As it is snowing very hard here I decided to go out tomorrow instead to buy them. I then came up to work on my laptop and the first thing I discovered was the notice for your Mom. Please know that both Peter and I are grieving with you and your families also our Pete, Jim and Lini. You have been very blessed in your lives to have shared so much time with such an amazing woman.

To Doug, John, Julie Kristine, Kendall and Kirby,
Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beautiful mother and grandmother, Barb. We always enjoyed seeing our summer friends on that beautiful stretch of beach we share at Grand Lake, and we will miss not seeing Barb again, the last surviving parent of those who built there in the early 1960's.
We hope you find some measure of peace and comfort in the midst of your loss, knowing that she had a long and wonderful life and that she was adored by so many.
Doug, we only recently learned about Colleen, and want to offer our sympathies. We are sorry you have had to endure so much in such a short timespan.
Remembering the good times we shared, and thinking of you all.
Until next summer,
Pat & Pam

Doug, John and families, So very sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. I always looked forward to seeing her each year at the Lake. Upon arriving , my first visit was over to say hello to Barb (and what ever wonderful dog she had with her). I look forward to having the opportunity to attend a memorial service in Fredericton , and share some stories.
Doug, I was not aware of Colleen's passing and extend my deepest sympathy for your loss as well.
