To the Connolly Family:
I have known Joe for over 30 years, commencing with my firm (Beutel Goodman) managing an investment portfolio for the Mt. Royal Cemetery Company in Montreal in the 1980's. Joe was a Director and Investment Committee Member.
Although the Company chose to move its money elsewhere in the late 1980's, Joe remained as a client of mine until I retired in June 2018.
My last visit with Joe was in June of this year. While looking a bit frail, Joe was animated and full of questions. We had a good "last" chat.
Joe was the consummate gentleman, and he loved Jean immensely. We had meetings at their home in Westmount over the years. I always enjoyed my time with them both. We thereafter met in Toronto after Joe moved.
I will miss Joe. He ranks very high on my list of clients, and also as a good "friend".
