I had the honour of serving with Musketman Hooper and his son Ian for many years in the King's Royal Regiment of New York. He was a dependable and steadfast soldier. He carried on under all conditions, including a rather nasty accident he suffered in Burlington. In June of 2018 he came out with his family to see the Regt at Black Creek Pioneer Village and to share many memories. I will always remember his smile and the pride he took in his service.

I remember Philip well from working with him at McMaster University. Always warm, kind and gracious, he was a well respected member of our team of advancement and fundraising professionals. I can see him so clearly in my mind's eye as a superb grandfather in his later years...what a wonderful man...I was privileged to know and work with him! warmly, Marnie

Hello Pam,
I was saddened to read of Philip’s death in the Globe last week. He was so kind to come to mother’s funeral back in 2006. I’m sorry that I won’t be able to attend on the 9th. My condolences to you and all the family.

I will truly miss Philip's genial company at our golf, curlng and theatre outings. His friendship was valued - in particular our common values, the memories of our parents and the love and enjoyment of our children and grandchildren which we both shared.

Dear Sandra and Family,
Philip will always be remembered as such a gentle and friendly soul. He was such a wonderful neighbour to many of us who lived in his building. Not only was he a lovely neighbour but a hard working volunteer board member to work with. No issue at our building was too trivial for Philip to consider. I remember so well when he retired how much he enjoyed spending more time with his Grandchildren. I would always see him racing off down the hallway for the school pick ups but boy did he love every minute of it! I feel blessed to have known Philip.

Philip's Family,
I am saddened to read of the passing of the lovely man. Philip was always extremely warm and interested in me, my family and seemingly all whom he met. What a lovely enviable quality. I knew him as a fellow curler at the Toronto Granite Club when he and other team members invited me to joinn them on a team, we curled together weekly for many years always enjoying the comradely we shared. Whether at a family function (I was married to his cousin Diana) or at the Hooper cottage I was always delighted to Qaeda him and engage in friendly chat. His gift to me and likely to almost everyone was his genuine warmth, I will miss him and his qualities. Best to you his family at this sad time.
