Tom was one of the finest people I have ever worked with in my entire career in the Menswear business. When I went to the showroom he made me feel like family or a friend, it never felt like business.

Tom rented kayaks from us for many years, until he bought his own. We got to know him quite well. Always upbeat. Often brought mementos from one of his adventures. We saw him last year when he dropped by to see how we were doing. He told us then to not be surprised if we woke up one morning to see him sleeping in his vehicle in the back of the woods. That was Tom. Loved nature. Our hearts are sad to hear of his passing.

Like everyone I was shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Tom. He and I worked together in the mid 70's at Black Sheep in Edmonton. Tom like myself made a life in the apparel business and although our paths did not cross that often we remained friends. Tom was a wonderful person with a soft and engaging personality which will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Dear Anna, Argus, Marlon and family,
Brian and I are so sorry that Tom has passed away from this tragic accident. We remember his kindness and elegance, and his loving dedication to you, Anna, and the boys, and their talents with the choir at St James and RSGC. Because of Tom, we learned about men's fashion back in the '70's in Calgary, and the work and commitment it takes to bring beautiful clothes to us all. We were also so amazed and inspired to discover the work he was doing with helping young homeless men to get dressed well, and to get off the street and back into finding work. We will always remember Tom for his subtle and creative approach to challenges and his wonderful dry sense of humour. May your loving memories and dreams of Tom be a comfort during this very sad time.

My heart is so sad right now. Tom, you were the epitome of a friend, when my world was crashing around me and my daughter injured, you were there for me, you guided me, you and Anna. Working together those years taught me so much, taught me what a true friend really meant.

Anna, Marlon and Argus, I am so very sorry I can't be there to help you through this terrible time in your lives. Jim was my rock and the glue that kept me together and after his death in December I had Tom, he became my rock and my glue. Thank you Anna for lending him to me, he got me through so many rough spots and I will miss him with all my heart.
The reality is you will not get over the loss of Tom, but you will learn to live with it. You will never be the same, nor should you be, nor would you want to be.
I am so very happy and grateful that Tom and Bob took the time to come and visit with a widowed sister in law for those few days when I was in Campbell River. With much love to the three of you, Mary Ellen

Dearest Anna,

To Anna, Argus, Marlon, and everyone at Chambers & Sons, I offer my heartfelt condolences and sadness with the loss of one of our industry’s great leaders.
Tom was a very calm and soothing voice in a business full of chaos and demands. He was a true gentleman through and through and always made us feel like we were at home and amongst family. He could always be counted on to bring ever new and exciting lines to the stage and was never afraid to back up what he believed in. He was just an all around nice guy!
I will never forget the great lengths he went through to bring us our peameal bacon sandwiches each and every appointment and going forward they will forever have a deeper meaning. It is with a heavy heart that I offer condolences from Evelyn, myself and our staff on Tom's passing. It is almost thirty years since I first worked with Tom in his then, small office in Toronto. He made me (as a new business owner) feel so much at home, given the more refined and luxurious selection of goods which he represented, and for which I strived. In the ensuing thirty years I cannot ever recall a meeting with him when he did not convey the greatest respect and congeniality for his client.

Anna, Marlon, Argus and the Chambers Family: Tom will forever be missed at the Loretto. His spirit, kindness and love of the outdoors will always be remembered. He was truly a great man who touched many along the way. I consider myself lucky to have known him.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Tom's tragic and sudden passing. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man. My dearest Anna and Family
I know that words are inadequate at a time like this but I wanted you to know how very sorry I am for your loss. The loss of a spouse is a tragic event and I can only imagine the pain and suffering you are experiencing.
It is times like this that our faith is put to the test. We know that we must accept his passing and give thanks for the wonderful life he lived. As sad as it will be, we will always have the memory of him to hold in our hearts.
I pray that God will give you the strength to see you through this sad and difficult time. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all.
