I've been Jim's neighbour for over 32 years and yet I was always the new kid on the block to Jim. After all, Jim was the benevolent king of Airdrie Road. I will miss our chats at the corner talking about this and that and everything in between. Jim was a wise philosopher sage and I was always a better person after talking to him. He always possessed a clarity with regards to how to live a happy, honourable and fulfilling life. I will also miss seeing Jim on his plastic green Adirondack chair in the evening... enjoying his "juice" beverage and often, raising a glass and cracking jokes with his fellow expat who lived down the street. To Adrian and Niall...he was so immensely proud of both of you. He was most happiest when he was speaking about you and your families. When talking about the both of you and especially, the grandkids, there was always a twinkle in his eye ...a quiet yet boundless joy. I am so heart-broken about the passing of my dear and precious friend, your dad. I can't imagine what it must be like for you during this time of great loss. May your precious memories give you some comfort during this difficult passage. I know there are no words. You are all in my thoughts.
