I just found out about Stephanie's passing and I'm devastated. I knew her back in Timmins, and we reconnected on Facebook a few years ago so that was the only way I knew her as an adult, but what a lovely woman she was. Witty, sharp, her love of knowledge and learning (and grammar!) and diving were nothing compared to the love and pride she felt for her family that she constantly displayed, through pictures and comments. And the dog!
I was astounded by her generosity. She contributed to my half-sister's online campaign to raise funds for a new house when hers was devastated by a flood last summer. Stephanie didn't know my half-sister and she only knew me from elementary school. What a huge heart she had. We talked on the phone once, and it cemented the fact that I admired her. I always thought we would catch up one day in Toronto at her favourite Spanish restaurant. I am so sad I waited too long. So incredibly sad. To Gregory and Declan and Sarah and all of Stephanie's family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss.

To Greg and the children, I just found out Stephanie passed away while wishing her a happy birthday on FB. I am so sorry to hear this terribly sad news, and sorry I only found out today or for sure I would have attended the celebration of her life. Can't say I knew her all that well, but we had some good times at Didier and with Chris McDonald. My thoughts are with you, and I wish the 3 of you much courage and strength. Anne

Neil and I are deeply saddened to hear of Stephanie's far too soon passing. We'll remember her wonderful smile, wry sense of humour and infectious laugh. She taught us that "ironical" is a real word. We have lovely memories of long walks at Riverdale Park with the dogs and little ones in tow. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.

A beautiful smile and heart that will never be forgotten. Stephanie’s support to the AY Jackson bursary was undeniably generous as she was. Sincere condolences to her family and friends from me and all of her classmates from AY Jackson in Kanata

I was so saddened to read Stephanie’s obituary in The Ottawa Citizen. I was friends with Stephanie and her best friend Louise back in Timmins when we were young teenagers. We lived a block away from each other. I was also friends with her brother John years later after I had moved to Ottawa. Stephanie was a beautiful and smart girl that I will always fondly remember. My deepest condolences to John, Stephanie’s mother, her husband and children.

Stephanie was such a kind, supportive, and funny woman. She reached out to me/our family when we were struggling and her advice/words of wisdom continues to resonate and guide us. Our family will never forget her; She was an empathetic force of nature that will never fade in the lives of the people she touched.

The city's sirens, violins
Everything has changed

Stephanie and I were classmates at AY Jackson SS in Kanata. Although we never spoke again after graduation I still remember sharing a laugh to two in between classes. I hurts to see someone so full of life leave us at this relatively young age, but as I remember Steph, she would not have given up on living a full life in the face of adversity.
I feel truly blessed to have known her and will never forget her beautiful smile.
