Beverley... I just learned today of Marion's passing. I was so sorry to find this out as I was very curious since we always exchanged lengthy letters at Christmas and when we didn't hear from her this year, I feared the worst. We went back as far as Gibson Willoughby days, then A.E. LePage and then Royal LePage from where I retired in 2005. We all looked up to her and respected her work ethics.
You will have many good memories to reflect on and she was very fortunate to have you nearby.
Regards,
Karen & Keith Faulkner, Brighton, ON

Beverley and Thelma,
I'm writing you from Vancouver, where it occurred to me today that - for the first time in decades - I'd not received a Christmas card from Marion. While fewer people send cards each December, this seemed out of character for your mum and so I searched her name online and learned the sad news.
Please accept my sincere sympathy. I thought the world of Marion.
We were introduced by Kathy Johnson in the days when Royal LePage was still A. E. LePage. Kathy and I were in regular touch, as I worked with the COO of the company's BC division.
Kath asked me one Christmas in the very early 80s if I would be willing to receive and hold Marion's homemade mincemeat for pick up by some lifelong Vancouver friends. I was happy to help, and that was the beginning of a decades-long Christmas card exchange. She wrote about you each year, Beverley, and also mentioned you, Thelma. Marion always expressed interest in and asked about our two children. I was impressed with her joy in life, and looked forward to hearing of her travels with you and also her travels to enjoy curling bonspiels.
I enjoyed, liked and had very high regard for Marion. While she lived a good and long life, I can only imagine your loss.
Am hopeful that receiving this note months after the fact offers comfort, even if it stirs up sadness.
With sorrow and great appreciation of a lovely woman,
Shelagh

Marion was a very dear friend whom I and my sister Joan have known her for 70 years going back to England. Marion, Beverly and her sister Thelma have been part of our family all this time. We all 4 shared an apartment in Toronto back in the 1950's. Marion, Thelma, and I were like sisters and Beverly is my God Daughter.
Over the years we have kept in touch and have visited on numerous occasions in California and Florida.
You have been such a wonderful friend and such a dear person.
We will miss you Marion.

So sad to hear the news about Marion. She was such a great part of our family. I have known her all my life, as we lived in the same house in Vancouver when I was born. I will always remember her great sense of humour and her infectious laugh. My parents loved her visits and they had many great times together. My family and I send our condolences to Bev and Thelma. She will be missed. Alan Smith

Marion was my trusted friend for 59 years. We met soon after I arrived in Canada in 1959. She was truly grounded and gave me her honest opinion in all the years we had conversations. We covered a lot of history together and I will miss her.

This was just 4 years ago, when we went on a wonderful Caribbean cruise.
I probably don't have a picture of it 'cause we were too busy getting trussed up, but it was in Aruba that we went parasailing for the second time in our lives. Mum loved it -- such a trouper! (:-D)

Mum at Luminato 2016, the year it was based at the decommissioned Hearn Generating station, which was fantastic. The statue behind has a beehive growing as its head - pretty cool.
