I remember Mr. Way so fondly. He supervised my year long research project in Grade 12 and was always very supportive and encouraging... a great role model and mentor. I visited NSS quite a few times after graduation, and he never failed to welcome me back. He was a dedicated educator and wonderful person. Sending best wishes and condolences to his family.

I just learned of Mr Way's passing. What a wonderful giving man. I was his student in several classes, and one of those who benefited from the Gifted Program he created. I can honestly say that my life would be so much lesser if it were not for what he created and offered. I hope the universe rewards him for all his good works.

I worked with Glenn at the Kortright Centre for Conservation, and he was one of my favourite people. He was always so kind and very passionate about nature and working with students. But my most cherished memory will always be Glenn, my fiddle and...
"I'm...a... happy little farmer in the sugar shack, the sugar shack, the sugar shack; I'm a happy little farmer in the sugar shack, just boiling sap all day! All the good people, they come and visit us, visit us, visit us; all the good people they come and visit us, here in the sugar shack! I'm a happy little farmer in the sugar shack, just boiling sap all day!"
Thank you, Glenn, and my condolences to your family. Peace. <3

I met Glenn through my brother Peter and the other members of the BVAA. He and I and my wife Lois spent time with Glenn in Vancouver where he stayed with us, Sannibel Island where I spent time with him and the other BVAA people.
All my memories of Glenn are happy ones, He was a born story teller and teacher . So what do I remember ?
Sir Farts a lot DVD jokes and lots and lots of laughing , and volleyball games, dinners and plays and fun weekends.
Glenn had lunch with us at the Granville Island Brewery on his last trip west He and I Lois my wife and Peter Brymer were alone that day and a former student came up to Glenn and thanked him for motivating her and saying how much he had been an inspiration to her. It was a very moving exchange which I am certain had been repeated countless times by former student.
He was a great guy,

Mr. Way was my homeroom teacher in 1990 and was a trusted mentor throughout my time at Northern. Many of us had fond memories chatting with Mr. Way in his office at the back of the library. Always supportive and with a great sense of humour, he had a genuine passion for teaching and for ensuring his students were successful.
My condolences to Mr. Way's family and hope you find comfort in the impactful life that he led.

Mr Way was my science teacher at NSS and he left an impact. I still think of him 20 years later. He was so encouraging and kind. Being at NSS was hard for a kid from downtown Toronto who didn’t know many people. He somehow understood that and made the transition easier for me and that kindness remains impactful. I was just telling someone this weekend about the first science experiment we had to do with the nail in the chlorine. My lab partner and I followed the directions and did not get the intended result so he made us redo it. We did so twice and failed again so he supervised us at each step and we still didn’t get the result. We were both red heads named Margaret (go figure I’d never met another Margaret my age yet there were two of us that year and we were given the exact same schedule) so he teased us about being cursed and had to write a report about why we didn’t get the expected result and what that could mean. I have so many memories of that year but I often tell the story of the “failed” experiment. I’m so sorry for your loss!

Mr. Way was my Grade 9 Science teacher and advisor at Northern Secondary School in the late 1990s. I remember him as a kind, caring and approchable teacher with a great sense of humour. His classes were always fun and interesting; it was easy to see how passionate he was for ecology and education. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I ended up perusing both science and education degrees. Thank you, Mr. Way. I have no doubt you inspired countless other students and educators, too.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I had many fond memories of working with Glenn as a teacher in the gifted program at Northern. I will always be thankful for his faith and guidance in my teaching in the enriched program at NSS. But my fondest memory was when he introduced me to the sport of curling, something I continue to be a part of to this very day.

I had the privilege of being a student of Mr. Way for three years when I attended the Level 6 Program at Northern Secondary School from 1977 to 1982. He always liked to tell me to "keep the faith". Glenn was one of the most inspirational teachers I've had the pleasure to learn from, and his influence is remembered fondly and carried on in my classrooms today.
