I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Dr. Yao's family. As a staff nurse in the operating room at St. Mike's, I had the priviledge, and great pleasure of working with him for many years. He was not only a wonderful surgeon, but a genuinely lovely person. Always polite, always time to say hello or sit and have a chat and a good laugh, Jimmy was a gentleman. May he be at peace.

Dr. Yao's Family, My condolences on the passing of your father. He was one of the first doctors that I worked with when I started my nursing career. He was a caring and compassionate Dr. who provided wonderful medical care to all his patients and their families. It was a blessing to work with him

Dr. Yao's Family, I had the pleasure of starting my Nursing Career @SMH, back in 1982. Well, one of the first doctors I met and worked with was Dr. Yao. What an incredible human being! He was brilliant, funny, kind, and loved by everyone. I can honestly say, that I feel blessed to have known him. Family was everything to Dr. Yao. He will always have a special place in all of our hearts, and never be forgotten. Kristina Berger

I wish to extend my sympathy to all the family. Dr. Yao was such a wonderful kind funny inspirational surgeon. I first met him as a student nurse at St. Mike’s and have such wonderful memories of learning so much from him. He treated everyone the same, no matter what their position at the hospital was. My classmates from the class of 1974 at St Michael’s School of Nursing have all been sharing our memories of him and reminiscing on how he touched our lives. May he Rest In Peace. Maureen Connelly

I was an O.R. nurse at St. Mike's in the late 60's & early 70's & remember "Jimmy" quite well. He was a talented surgeon & a genuinely nice man. I remember him as being full of fun, compassionate as a surgeon & respectful to the staff. I had the pleasure of seeing him a few years ago when he dropped into Peterborough Festival of Trees where I was a volunteer. He came especially to see me! I was delighted. My condolences to all his loved ones. Let the memories sustain you.
