I met Paddy in my first semester at University of Guelph, summer of 1968. At that time, he was waiting for his girlfriend, Jane, to join him, and I was so happy to meet her when she came in the fall semester. Both became good friends during my university years. Paddy was more like a big brother, teasing me mercilessly, but also there when I needed support. Meals in the dining hall were always more fun when Paddy was there. I would sometimes give him my second helpings when he was bulking up for playing football. Lots of laughs.
So many happy memories! He was such a big kid - it is hard to imagine that he is gone so soon.
My deepest condolences to all the family.
