Obituary of Kenneth Townsend Dunsmore
Kenneth Townsend Dunsmore (May 8, 1923 – May 27, 2018)
With sadness, we announce the death of Kenneth Dunsmore, at the Veterans Centre, Sunnybrook Health Services Centre.
Predeceased by parents, Thomas and Kathleen Dunsmore, brother, Thomas Dunsmore.
Survived by sister-in-law, Edna Dunsmore. Uncle to Dana (Jusie) Dunsmore, Nadine Dunsmore, Trace (Rebekah) Dunsmore, and many great-nephews and a niece. Survived by dear friend and companion, Jane Manning.
Born and raised in Leaside, Ken volunteered for the RCAF in 1942 upon graduation from high school. Following the war, he obtained his degree from the University of Toronto. Ken worked with a number of organizations, including the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Later residing in Don Mills, Ken was tirelessly involved in his community (Don Mills Residents Inc., North York Tennis Association, and more) and dedicated countless volunteer hours to charities. An avid skier, Ken's quick humour, infectious smile, and twinkle of eyes, will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
