Obituary of Mary Louise Adams
Adams, Mary Louise
September 6,1957 – March 27, 2018
Born and raised in Toronto, Mary graduated from McMaster University in 1979, and then moved to Edmonton, where she worked for Catholic Social Services as a social worker. Four year later, at age 26, Mary was diagnosed with MS, a disease that ended her career but not her positive attitude and cheerfulness, which were her hallmarks. Mary made her home for the last 20 years of her life at West Park Healthcare Centre in Toronto, where the exceptional staff and volunteers cared for her and protected her, and where she enjoyed the camaraderie of her fellow stouthearted residents. She died peacefully of natural causes.
Mary was predeceased by her father, Robert Adams, and is survived by her husband, Steve Douglas, mother Joan Adams, brother John Adams, sister Patricia Adams, brother-in-law, Lawrence Solomon, nieces Essie and Catharine Solomon and many dedicated friends who cherished Mary’s kind and loving soul.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to West Park Healthcare Centre may be made in honour of Mary's life, and as a tribute to the outstanding care she received.
