Dear Jim and family
Me sincere condolences on the passing of Heather . I read the obituary and I could tell she showered much love on all of you. Although she was taken from you too early , it clear she led a very full life , surrounded by family and friends .
The loss of a wife and mother is clearly painful but you will have many wonderful memories together to cherish with the passage of time .
George Koroloff told me of your loss — I would have attended the visitation but we were in India on vacation. Jim I hope our paths cross again.

We are shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Heather. We will always cherish our visits together in Collingwood and on the Bruce Peninsula.
Heather liked to engage in conversations discussing educational issues and had an obvious passion in her role as a teacher. Our hearts go out to Jim and the entire McKenzie family during this difficult time.

February 15, 2018 marks a day in which we lost a truly phenomenal woman. Fortunately I had the distinct privilege of knowing Heather for many years, ultimately culminating in countless vivid memories. Despite our long relationship it was evident you need not have known Heather for more than ten minutes to come to the realization she was definitely one of the "Good Ones". An intellectual (who never made you feel less intelligent) with a sense of humour (that was never to the detriment of others) and a passion for not only her own, but the families of others. I will truly miss our lengthy discussions related to all that were special in our lives. We would all be wise to steal a page from the book of Heather on how to live, love and laugh. My deepest and most sincere condolences to Jim and his beautiful family. My thoughts are with you all.

Heather was my dear friend of fifty years. Over time we shared our experiences in teaching, homemaking, motherhood and in later years being grandmothers. We shared raucous laughter, joys and sorrows. During our friendship a mean word was never exchanged. My friend loved her family deeply and was constantly mindful of their well being. I will miss her cheery, “ Hello Yolanda” as we embarked on our one hour phone conversations. but your voice will remain with me.I will miss you. Rest In Peace. With much love, Yolanda

Ryan and I have fond memories of great times together with Jim and Heather. They visited many of the cottages we rented. She was on her own once and I recall she and Ryan lying on the sand at night figuring out the constellations of stars. We had many dinners together in downtown Toronto. We even went on trips to the Caribbean.
Heather enjoyed life to the fullest, was so thoughtful and had a fantastic sense of humour. She will be always in our hearts.
