On behalf of all the music department and students at Rosedale Heights SA, we wish you our deepest sympathies. Charles spread the joy of singing and music to all his students and in retirement, to all those who he taught when he came to Rosedale to supply teach. He was equally inspiring to strings and band students as he was to vocal students and in musical theatre, it was a privilege to have him play for the rehearsals and shows. My classes cheered when I told them I was going to be away and Mr. Kipper was coming in! He taught us younger teachers to bring joy to the classroom and to each other. I will miss chatting with him during lunches at the school about Estonian choral festivals and music in general. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathies to the family. I was in teachers college u of t with Charles in the music faculty. We were both in music and drama. We were in many classes together and were good friends. Charles was a dear gentle person, always wanting to do the best for everyone. We both taught music for the Toronto District school board and shared exchange visits with our students. One yr I was given the use of steel drums for my students and he taught me how to play them. To me music is the most wonderful gift a person can experience and I know Charles believed the same. The angel of music is with Charles! Puhka rahus kallis sober!
