We mourn the loss of life in what we think of as "The Drakes - Unit 202". Dorothy was such a vital part of our collective family through so many years. We are grateful that her family was with her when she passed. May her zest for life carry on through her family and remind us all of the joy in living every day to its fullest,
Sincerely,
The Board for Craigleigh Aprarments Limited

Julie, Chris and Sarah...to you and your families, my sincerest condolences in the passing of your mother.
It was always a pleasure spend time with Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Hugh, whether at their place on South Dr, skiing at Craigleith or just listening to the adventures of your dad`s next boat building project!! Always so much fun.
Your mum and dad were truly great human beings. I am blessed to have known them.

Berta’s tribute:
Dear Julie, Chris and Sarah,
You have lost a very remarkable Mother. Graduate from Queens university in bio chemistry....unheard of back then ! What an achiever ! Also an excellent skier, both alpine and Nordic...and a remarkable sailor and all around adventurer, reader and appreciator of the arts .
I am Dorothy's first cousin, age 96 and I remember happy times with Dorothy and Hugh when they lived in Burlington ....times spent skiing with them at Craigleith while staying at their chalet there. ....but it goes way way back...very happy times at the cottage on beautiful Stoney Lake,.....Francis and I, Dorothy and Harice being taken on a tour on their beloved Cygnet sailboat by my Uncle Harold. Imagine your Mother spending every year of her life at the Stoney Lake lovely cottage.?
I know your Mother had some physical pain in her life from her back. But when asked she would always say I’m fine. Eternal optimist!
Doug and I were not able to attend Hugh’s funeral so I had not seen Dorothy for quite a long time, but tried to keep in touch by telephone.
I have so many happy memories spent with Dorothy and Hugh...I could go on and on ...
I know you will miss your Mother very much. She was a darling.
With much love and Sympathy
cousin Berta
Doug adds:
Dorothy and Hugh were inspirational to me.
Dorothy's optimism, sense of adventure ..and joy la vie will not be forgotten !
