I am saddened to hear of George's passing. I got to know George through pickup hockey. George's easy-going nature and clever wit came out during our weekly skate.
He will be missed. He was a warrior on the ice but a gentleman off the ice. My deepest condolences.

Dear Katie:
We are deeply and sincerely sorry for the loss of your dad and shocked and saddened how suddenly he left this world. Life doesn't seem fair sometimes and this is one of those moments. Known George was a neighbour for the past couple years and I have begun to develop a friendship with him. I am shocked and in disbelief of hearing the sad news. I played hockey with George for many years. He was a great guy and a terrific addition to our group. He was a tough competitor, but always fair. He was liked and respected by everyone, and will be missed. When news broke among our players about his death, many expressed their shock and deep sadness. Before our game Tuesday we had a moment of silence in his honour, followed by three cheers and salute to him. Video and photos of our tribute to George will be sent to his family.
