Obituary of Robert Nigel Easun
ROBERT NIGEL EASUN
Born August 2, 1933 in Stratford, Ontario. Died peacefully in Peterborough on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in his 85th year, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by his parents John (Jack) and Margaret Easun (nee Alexander) and his brother William. Survived by his brother Jim (Linda).
Bob will be greatly missed by his children David (Edith Warren), Jeff (Diana), Susan Clark (Paul), his four grandchildren Matthew and Rebecca Clark, and Sara and Andrew Easun and his former spouse Catherine (Kay) Easun (nee Miles).
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Degree in Business Administration. Long time IBM employee and Member of the University of Western Ontario Athletic Hall of Fame. Bob was a lifelong competitive swimmer winning numerous North American Championships, setting many records and competing in meets as recently as last year. He bought his Emerald Isle Cottage on Buckhorn Lake in 1963, transformed it into his home and happily shared it until his passing.
The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Sunday, January 28th from 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. If desired, please make donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, 1 Hospital Drive, Peterborough K9J 7C6.
