HUGH GORDON MORRIS Q.C.
Peacefully passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Baycrest Health Sciences Center. Hugh will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Ada, predeceased by his first wife, Carol; his five daughters, Leslie (Ken), Lizzy, Heather (Bob), Hilary, Sarah (Greg); his four stepchildren, James (Maureen), Bob (Heather), Philip (Robin), Janis (Chris); twenty-three grandchildren; Charlotte, Madeline, Andrew, Alana Macdonald; Emily and Isobel Morris-Smale; Cameron, Mackenzie, Taya, Caliya and Tessa Connor; Keira, Maeve, Eva, Fiona Macdonald; David, John, T.J., Georgia Macdonald; Connor, Jackson, Logan, and Brooke Lobb-Macdonald and his many dear friends.
Hugh had a keen passion for learning, reading and adventure which was evident in his love of sailing in Georgian Bay, tennis and his numerous travels around the world. Along with his law partners, he was instrumental in building the law firm Morris/Rose/Ledgett where he took great pleasure in mentoring the growth of young minds. He also enthusiastically participated in many philanthropic endeavors. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care given to Hugh, especially by his caregivers at home, Bona and Lily, and the wonderful team at Baycrest Health Sciences Centeras well as the private care givers who so lovingly and thoughtfully cared for Hugh during his stay.
A celebration of Hugh's life will be held at Eglinton St. George's United Church, 35 Lytton Blvd., Toronto at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, followed by a reception.
The family looks forward to welcoming friends prior to the service at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be appreciated.
