Dear Meagan, Courtney, Alfie and families;
We will dearly miss your beautiful and gracious mother and grandmother. Vicky’s pride in and devotion to her family were always evident each time we gathered together. She was beautiful both inside and out with her wonderful sense of humour and style. Vicky handled adversity and challenge, even at the end of her life with such strength and grace. We are most grateful for the warmth and joy she brought to all of us.

Over 15 years ago, we had the honour and privilege of meeting Vicki and her wonderful family. From the moment we first met, Vicki’s warmth and kindness immediately welcomed us. We are blessed and very grateful to have been able to celebrate so many special moments together and create lasting memories. Although she is no longer with us in body, she will always be in our hearts.

Like any beloved family member, Vicki showed concern and genuine interest in all aspects of her extended family's lives. She has shared in many momentous occasions in our family's lives - from weddings to births and was there for the passing of our own parents as well. Warm and affectionate, she always greeted us with a hug and a smile and always made us feel welcome at family gatherings at Mike and Meagan's. We will all miss our conversations with Vicki at these occasions, where she took the time to connect with each one of us on a personal level. Vicky will be sorely missed as the bright light of her spirit illuminated so many of the MacDonald family gatherings. She was never without a warm and kind welcome to everyone and was always engaged and interested in the goings-on of all the members of our family. Vicky’s positivity and openess already lives on through her children and grand children.

Vicki McLaughlin was like a second mother to me. Vicki was warm and welcoming and the kind of woman who walked softly on this earth. I have the fondest memories of spending time with the whole family in earlier years and laughing and sharing stories together. I was fortunate to meet Vicki through my best friend Courtney when I was 16 years old and this friendship and family have changed my life in many ways. I adored Vicki and I offer the deepest condolences to the entire family as the loss is significant. A wonderful mother and a very special grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
